'Universe Birthday Party'
Alex Kurina, Nuit Blanche window installation
Oct 3, 2009

Universe Birthday Party (189 Balloons) is a video installation by Alex Kurina, celebrating the universe. On October 3rd, 2009 you can help ring in the 13.73 billionth year (give or take 120 million years) of a celestial body that has given so much yet asked for so little. Running for one night (give or take a night), Universe Birthday Party will be visible from College Street (one block west of Spadina) during Nuite Blanche, as part of its very unofficial program.

'Hey Apathy!'
A large drawing installation by Mike Parsons
Dec 1, 2007 - Jan 6, 2008

Fans have had the chance to watch Mike Parsons perform live drawings on Queen Street West in Toronto for the past three years.  Now for the first time since 2003,  "Hey Apathy!" returns to the gallery setting for this giant drawing installation.

This impressive collection of original work includes 10 by 12 ft Street Murals created on Queen Street and in Kensington Market between March and September of 2007. Parsons will also unleash his newest ink-on-canvas studio drawings, each of which took between 100 and 150 hours to complete, as well as the last 200 of 1000 small canvas works.

The artist has independently published two comic books, and will officially release "Hey Apathy! Book One" at the exhibition. Parsons will also present the first in his new line of limited edition poster prints. A full line of the artist's merchandise will also be available.
